Valve Unveils New HDMI CEC Features for SteamOS on Steam Deck Preview Build 3.6.0

Valve is set to experiment with several HDMI CEC features in the most recent preview build of SteamOS for the Steam Deck. This enables users to utilize the Steam Deck alongside the docking station to power on the TV and switch inputs.

The features are detailed in the summary of enhancements in previewbuild 3.6.0. The HDMI CEC features aim to simplify the use of the Steam Deck with a TV. Testers can also select which Bluetooth devices can wake their Steam Deck from sleep mode. 

Additional changes in the preview build consist of enhanced AirPods pairing with the Steam Deck, an update to Linux kernel 6.5, and support for Bluetooth profiles A2DP and BAP.
