In a previous job listing by Mark Pajarillo, whose profile can be found here, it was indicated that he was responsible for overseeing the production of various aspects of the game, including environment art, weapons, and interactive props. Specifically, he mentioned working on titles such as The Last of Us: Part One and The Last of Us 2: Remastered. This could potentially suggest that Naughty Dog is indeed working on a remastered edition of The Last of Us: Part II.

Naughty Dog made headlines in early October due to reports of contract non-renewals for several employees and layoffs within the art production department.
