According to leaker MegasizeGPU, Nvidia is gearing up to launch an updated version of the GeForce RTX 4080 in early 2024. This new iteration is speculated to be either an RTX 4080 Ti or a 4080S, featuring the AD102 GPU instead of the original AD103 found in the RTX 4080.

The leaked information suggests that the Total Graphics Power (TGP) of the new GPU must remain below 450W. This is lower than the TGP of the RTX 4090, although the power consumption is expected to be higher than the 320W of the RTX 4080. The specific number of CUDA cores in the upcoming video card has not been confirmed yet. The RTX 4080 has 9728 cores, while the RTX 4090 boasts 16384 cores, indicating that the new GPU may fall somewhere in between.

Further details regarding the specifications are scarce, but reports from VideoCardz suggest that the new GPU could feature a memory capacity between the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. This could mean the inclusion of 20GB of GDDR6x memory and a 320-bit memory bus. The leaker also mentioned that the more powerful version of the RTX 4080 will likely be priced similarly to the original model, which had a suggested retail price of 1469 euros at launch.

It remains unclear whether the new GPU will be labeled as the RTX 4080S or Ti. Given that Nvidia has not released 'Super' variants of its video cards recently, it is more probable that this will be the RTX 4080 Ti.
