Microsoft has recently announced that they have removed a compatibility block that was preventing Windows 10 users from updating to Windows 11 on certain Intel PCs. These specific systems had an Intel Smart Sound Technology audio driver and an 11th Gen Intel processor.

Previously, updating systems with the Intel Smart Sound Technology driver and an 11th generation Intel Core processor to Windows 11 21H2 resulted in a blue screen of death issue towards the end of 2021. As a result, Microsoft had to block the update to the new operating system on these devices.

The blockage continued for version 22H2 even after Intel provided a solution for the bsod. According toMicrosoft reports, the compatibility issues with Intel Smart Sound Technology drivers have finally been resolved, two years after they first appeared.
