Google Implements Firmware Update Resulting in Slower Charging Time for Original Pixel Watch

Google recently rolled out a firmware update for the original Pixel Watch, resulting in a slower charging time for the smartwatch's battery. Previously, the Pixel Watch could be fully charged in just 80 minutes. However, after the update, the entire charging process now takes 110 minutes.

Although Google has implemented this change, they have not provided any official explanation for the modification. According to reports from 9to5Google, the company's aim behind this update is to reduce the heat generated while the watch is being charged. The first Pixel Watch was introduced by the American tech giant in October of last year. Equipped with a 294mAh battery, the watch boasts a battery life of up to 24 hours on a single charge. The starting price for the original Pixel Watch was $349, excluding applicable taxes.

Just earlier this month, Google unveiled the Pixel Watch 2, featuring a new System on Chip (SoC) and enhanced sensors. According to information provided by Google, the Pixel Watch 2 now only requires 75 minutes to reach a full charge. This latest model is now available for purchase in the Netherlands and Belgium, priced at 399 euros.
