Epic Games unveiled the Epic Games Store app for Android and iOS last week, with the iOS version limited to the European Union region. Gamers can now access the mobile versions of popular games like Fortnite and Fall Guys through the app.

According to Epic Games' blog post, the mobile app store was promised to be launched by the end of the year. Users can download the app through their mobile web browsers on their smartphones and tablets. Additionally, titles like Fortnite Rocket League Sideswipe and Fall Guys will soon be available on the AltStore PAL app store before expanding to other third-party app stores.

The company also criticized Apple and Google for creating "poor installation experiences" with multiple steps, confusing settings, and deterrent warnings, making the installation process lengthy.

Following the introduction of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), tech giants like Apple and Google have been required to open up certain platforms, including Apple's iOS and Google's Android. This has allowed developers to introduce their own app stores in the EU, subject to specific conditions.

Epic Games has been embroiled in legal disputes with Apple and Google over claims of monopolizing app distribution on their mobile platforms. In 2021, Apple was favored by the courts, although it was found to have impeded competition. On the other hand, Epic Games prevailed in its lawsuit against Google, securing a favorable outcome from the jury.
