Bitwarden has recently launched a new authenticator app for both Android and iOS devices. This app enables users to generate one-time passwords, commonly known as TOTP, for two-factor authentication purposes.
The Bitwarden Authenticator app is now accessible for free to all users, regardless of whether they use Bitwarden's password manager. Although the app is separate from the manager itself, it can still be utilized to produce access codes for the password manager. Similar to Bitwarden's password manager, the authenticator app is open source and has repositories available for Android and iOS on GitHub.
Further enhancements and features are expected for the Bitwarden Authenticator app as outlined in the roadmap. Import functionality is anticipated to be added soon, along with options to sync codes with a Bitwarden account and within the Bitwarden vault.
